They are playing my song (a day early)!

Chasewater apparently had a good fall of common migrants yesterday and I was hoping to try and do the Marsh ahead of the predicted rain today in case we had also benefited from the fall, however I wasn't expecting heavy fog with visibility down to about fifty feet!

If nothing else though it has kept the passage migrants down. On the walk back from swimming I heard three Chiffchaff, three Blackcap and (wait for it) - a singing Willow Warbler, but all on Clayhanger Common.

Hard to tell if they are local breeding birds and I suspect they are more likely to be passage migrants held down by the fog - time will tell as it does. - Chaz
